After an exciting MSI, the League of Legends EMEA Championship (LEC) is ramping up for another thrilling chapter with the start of the Summer Split on June 8, 2024. Prepare for seven weeks of top-tier, heart-pounding LoL action, all culminating in an epic Grand Final on July 28, 2024.
This summer promises to be legendary, packed with fan-favorite icons, daring underdogs, and unexpected twists. Ten elite EMEA teams will clash, vying for gold and glory, a share of the €80,000 prize pool and a coveted slot at LoL Worlds.
Here's everything you need to know about the LEC Summer Split, including the competition format, all ten competing squads, the current standings, and more!
Like previous years, the LEC plays through three different splits over the year, including the Winter Split in January, which was won by G2 Esports, Spring Split, and Summer Split.
For 2024, the LEC Summer Split is split into two phases: the Regular Season and the Bracket Stage/Playoffs. Unlike other professional regional leagues such as the LCK, LPL, CBLOL, and LCS, the LEC does not feature a Group Stage.
The Mid-Season Invitational in May showed the world that European squads can go toe-to-toe with the giants, with G2 Esports triumphing over LPL's second seed, Top Esports, in a clean 3-0 sweep.
Here is the complete list of teams for LEC Summer 2024, including their player rosters by their in-game ID. Players are listed in the order of their in-game roles from left to right (Top, Jungle, Mid, ADC, Support).
Disclaimer: At the time of writing (May 3), some team rosters are currently rumored but unconfirmed, so we'll update this with references as soon as we know more.
All LEC games are hosted at the designated Riot Games Arena in Berlin, which has been revamped to become Riot Games' esports hub in the EMEA region. Fans can catch all the Summer Split action live on the official LEC Twitch channel every Saturday and Sunday, with games streamed in English.
