History of the MLBB M World Championship
The M World Championship is the largest international Mobile Legends tournament of the year, bringing together the best talent to compete for the world championship title. The M World Championship has only been held four times before. Indonesia team EVOS Legends has won once, while different Filipino teams have claimed the win the other three times.
The first M World Championship, or the M1, was held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, at the Axiata Arena, which saw sixteen teams competing. In an exciting Bo7 Grand Finals matchup that went down to the wire, EVOS Legends went up against Rex Regum Qeon to claim the inaugural title.
The M2 World Championships was fraught with disruptions due to the COVID-19 pandemic and was held offline. Similar to its maiden season, 16 teams competed for a chance to prove they were the best of the rest. After a grueling Bo7 series in the Grand Finals, Bren Esports clinched the title away from the Burmese Ghouls, making them the first Filipino team to win the MLBB world championship.
The M3 World Championship, like the M2, also took place in 2021. This tournament was ground-breaking in that it introduced non-MPL teams from different regions like the US, Russia, the Middle East, and LATAM. The prize pool saw a massive increase from $300,000 to $800,000, cementing the M World Championship as the pinnacle of MLBB esports.
The fourth iteration of the M World Championship was held in January 2023. It saw the clash of two Filipino titans in the Grand Final, as ECHO Philippines and Blacklist International duked it out for the win. Ultimately, ECHO claimed the win, but Blacklist will be back for their chance at glory in M5!
The Philippines and Malaysia will host the M5 World Championship, with the all-new Wildcard Stage hosted at the Jio Space from November 23 - 26. The Philippines will be the battleground for the main tournament, with the Group Stage and Knockouts. May the best team win!

M5 World Championship: Favorite Teams To Watch
Many teams are competing in the M5 World Championship, but, of course, only one team can claim the crown, the glory, and the lion's share of the prize pool. Here are our favorite teams to keep an eye on during the tournament.
Blacklist International
The pride of the Philippines, Blacklist International, is definitely one to watch. They won the Mobile Legends World Championship in 2021, besting their fellow countrymen ONIC Philippines in a clean 4-0 sweep. They came second in M4 last year, beaten to the punch by ECHO. Since their rivals aren't competing this year, will Blacklist International regain their crown once again?
AP.Bren
Despite their recent rebranding, AP.Bren has had an incredible track record for success, fresh off the back of winning MPL PH S12. Their team features an all-star line-up, especially with KarlTzy getting the ultimate MVP award in the M2 World Championship, and hungry for more wins!
TheOhioBrothers
The Mobile Legends team hailing from NA is a force to be reckoned with and a dark horse in the M5 World Championship. They are currently performing well in the ONE Esports MPLI 2023, emerging as a top contender.
M5 World Championship: Where to Watch and Venues
The Wildcard Round will be held offline in Malaysia at the Jio Space. The Philippines plays host to the main event. The Group and Knockout Stages will be hosted at the EVM Convention Center in Quezon City, Metro Manila. The M5 World Championship Grand Finals will held at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum venue, the previous hosts for SEA Games in 2019.
All M5 World Championship games will be broadcast on all the official Mobile Legends: Bang Bang platforms, including YouTube, Facebook, TikTok, and Twitch. For region-specific live streams, broadcasts will be available for Indonesia, the Middle East, Singapore, the Philippines, Cambodia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Turkey, and Portuguese-speaking regions.
