The Lima Major 2023 is an upcoming Dota 2 tournament set to take place in Lima, Peru, South America. This competition is the latest iteration of Valve Corporation's Dota Major Championships, a series of prestigious Dota 2 events that occur throughout the year. Some of the best and most experienced Dota 2 teams will come together from across the globe to compete for a share of the substantial prize pool, set to be $500,000 USD. The Dota Lima Major begins on February 22nd, with the exhilarating conclusion on March 5th, 2023.
The tournament promised to be full of nail-biting moments and thrilling gameplay, as the best players in the world are set to publicly showcase their skills and compete for glory. The Lima Major 2023 will be split into two parts, running over several days: the group stages, followed by the playoffs. The group stage begins on February 22 and runs until February 26, featuring the eighteen qualifying teams, split into two groups of nine. The group stage matches are best of two, as the teams competing battle against each other for a chance to make it to the playoffs.
The victorious four groups from each division advance to the upper bracket of the playoffs, while the 5th and 6th place teams from each grouping proceed to the lower bracket. Any remaining teams are eliminated.
These twelve teams will battle it out in the playoffs, starting on February 28 and concluding on March 5 with the grand finals. Similar to other DPC LAN events, there will be a double-elimination bracket to keep things exciting.
This year's Dota 2 Major is ground-breaking as it will be the first Major ever hosted on South American soil. It will be held at Arena 1 in San Miguel, Lima, Peru.

A grand total of eighteen teams have fought to qualify for the group stage of the 2023 Dota Lima Major. These qualified teams will all have a chance to duke it out for a piece of the $500,000 grand prize pool and 1,900 Dota Pro Circuit points. The team that ranks first will win a whopping $200,000. The runner-up in 2nd will receive 100,000, 3rd gets 75,000, and 4th earns 50,000, so there is everything to play for!
All the teams set to compete in the Dota 2 Lima Major 2023 have run through and completed the LAN events in their respective regional leagues to qualify for the Lima Major group stage. There are four teams from both Western Europe and China, three from Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe, and two from North America and South America, so it is set to be a balanced roster of teams with individual strengths.

Competing for Southeast Asia are Geek Slate, Talon Esports and Execration.
North America have TSM and Shopify Rebellion fighting for their corner, while South America will prove they are a force to be reckoned with on their home turf, with beastcoast and Evil Geniuses.
