We're now into the fifth month of the year, and you know what that means - Star Wars Day!
Fortnite and Star Wars are collaborating again for the biggest crossover in the galaxy. On May 3 with update v29.40, Star Wars-themed galactic adventures will take over the Fortnite universe, including LEGO Fortnite, Battle Royale, Rocket Racing, and Fortnite Festival.
Last year's Star Wars collaboration saw players grinding through a Star Wars Day event pass to unlock the free Clonetrooper Fortnite skin.
This year, Epic Games has bigger and better things in store for the May the 4th celebration, including free and paid-for cosmetics themed around your favorite Star Wars characters.
Without further ado, let's dive right in and see what this year's Fortnite x Star Wars event has to offer, including all the exciting new Star Wars skins available in the Item Shop.
The centerpiece of this year's May the 4th event is the all-new LEGO pass for LEGO Fortnite. Players will need to complete quests for the Rebel Alliance and help them fight back against the evil rule of the Galactic Empire. This LEGO pass will feature tons of Star Wars builds blueprints and decor based on Mos Eisley on Tattooine — LEGO style.
Like the regular Battle Pass, there's a free route of items that can be unlocked through quest progression and earning XP. The premium track of the LEGO Star Wars pass costs 1,400 V-Bucks. Purchasing the premium pass grants immediate access to the Chewbacca skin, which can be used across all Fortnite game modes!
The Fortnite x Star Wars LEGO pass will be available until July 23, giving you plenty of time to unlock all these goodies.
But that's not all! Star Wars will invade the peaceful LEGO Fortnite world as conflict between Rebel and Imperial forces rages on. Some Rebels will also be crash-landing nearby. Complete their quests and build the Rebel village to restore peace to the galaxy (for now).
Once you've unlocked the Rebel Workbench, you'll get to craft and wield iconic Star Wars tools like Lightsabers, the Wookie Bowcaster, and the DL-44 Blaster.
The Chewbacca outfit isn't the only Star Wars skin available in this update! Three well-known skins framed after iconic characters will drop in the Item Shop, although their prices and bundles are currently unknown.
Each skin will also have LEGO Fortnite versions, so you get two skins for the price of one!
If you're looking to fill gaps in your Star Wars-themed Closet, some Star Wars Series outfits will also be returning to the Item Shop through the duration of this crossover, including:
Don't underestimate the power of the Dark Side. The legendary Sith, Darth Vader, will drop on the Fortnite island, ready and waiting for battle. He has the potential to spawn in three places, where you must defeat Vader to earn Darth Vader's Lightsaber. This weapon is a must-have to secure any victory royale, as it can block incoming fire or be thrown at your enemies to cleave them.
As per the last Fortnite Star Wars event, there will also be a series of Stormtrooper roadblocks and outposts dotted around the map, where you can pick up their E-11 blasters and flex your blaster skills.
New to 2024 is Chewbacca being held prisoner at one of the Stormtrooper camps, which changes location every game. If you successfully rescue him, he'll owe you a life debt and will be your ride-or-die companion until he dies or you do. Upon rescuing him, you'll get his trusty Wookie Bowcaster as a reward, which can also be obtained from Imperial Chests dotted around the map.
Battle Royale Star Wars quests will also be available to further promote Star Wars, granting players a Battle Pass Level Up for completing five quests and the AWR Pack Back Bling for completing ten!
These Battle Royale Star Wars Quests will be released in two phases: the first launching on May 3 at 9 AM ET and the second on May 7 at 9 AM ET. The event ends May 14, so don't miss your chance to snag some Fortnite Star Wars goodies.
Inspired by Din Djarin's armor in The Mandalorian, Rocket Racing will get a Beskar car, which can be purchased from the Item Shop. This Beskar car body comes bundled with four extra decal options and accompanying wheels themed around other Star Wars characters from TV shows, like Bo-Katan, the Armorer, and Boba Fett.
The Star Wars content doesn't end there! Rocket Racing will also feature its own Star Wars quests. The rewards for completing these are Star Wars-themed decals to deck out your Octane in style.
The first is based on Anakin's Podracer from Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The second is a Darth Maul decal, complete with his signature horns. A podracing-inspired Energy Binders Trail is also available, so your competitors can eat your dust, literally.
Like the Beskar car body, these items are cross-compatible with Rocket League, so unlocking them in Fortnite Rocket Racing makes them available in Rocket League, too, provided you have linked your accounts.
Last but not least, the Fortnite Festival mode is also getting in on the Star Wars bash, where Mos Eilsey's famous Catina takes center stage.
Players can unlock the iconic Catina Band jam track from the OG movie and the Endorian Drum Kit and Nakagorn Keytar musical instruments from the Fortnite Shop. The Seven String Hallikset Guitar will also be unlockable for free through a series of Star Wars quests specific to the Fortnite Festival game mode.
Fortnite and Star Wars have collaborated once again for the most iconic crossover in the game. All the fun starts on May 3, just in time for Star Wars Day. May the Force be with you.
